CURIO: A Celebration of Art, Design and Connection

CURIO: A Celebration of Art, Design and Connection

Presented by Belle in partnership with GlobeWest and Saint Cloche, Curio celebrated the intersection of contemporary art and design, bringing together GlobeWest’s limited-edition collection with a specially curated selection of works by Saint Cloche.

Curated by Saint Cloche Founder and Gallery Director Kitty Clark, the presentation explored colour as a defining creative language. Drawing inspiration from the graphic confidence and material richness of the 1970s and 1980s, bold compositions, sculptural forms and tactile materials created a dynamic dialogue between art and design. Contrasts between restraint and exuberance, minimalism and maximalism, informed a distinctive visual experience.

At the centre of the presentation were Saint Cloche artists
Evi O, Fiona Barrett-Clark and Hannah Lange, whose individual practices reflect Kitty’s longstanding interest in artistic originality, lived experience and the relationship between people and place.

Multidisciplinary artist Evi O, whose creative relationship with Kitty spans many years, explores the expressive potential of colour through abstraction. Fiona Barrett-Clark captures the nuances of Australian suburban life through her hyper-real observations of architecture and light, while Hannah Lange, a proud Wiradjuri artist, draws upon her connection to Country, memory and cultural identity.

A highlight of the event was a panel conversation moderated by Tanya Buchanan, Editor-in-Chief of Belle, featuring Kitty Clark alongside Evi O, Fiona Barrett-Clark, Hannah Lange and Keti Lytras, Head of Creative at GlobeWest, who directs the brand’s overarching creative strategy. Together, they explored colour, collecting, creative identity and the evolving relationship between art and design, offering perspectives from both artistic and design practices.

Reflecting the philosophy behind Saint Cloche Atelier, Curio demonstrated how art can extend beyond the gallery to inspire new connections between creative disciplines and the people who experience them.

The Curio exhibition remains on view by appointment.
