Last week, Saint Cloche celebrated You Little Rippa! (Crème de la Crème), our first international group exhibition, guest curated by Saxon Quinn.
Bringing together ten international artists in Sydney, the exhibition is built on more than a decade of friendship, collecting and creative exchange between Gallery Founder Kitty Clark and guest curator Saxon Quinn.

Some of those relationships have grown into pen pals, with conversations extending beyond art to everyday life and family. We’ve traded artworks, and many of the artists in the exhibition have works that now live in my home.”

The exhibition features works by Colt Seager (USA), Douglas Knesse (Brazil), Hetty Douglas (United Kingdom), Indiana Hoover (USA), Julien Jaca (France), Loren Erdrich (USA), Mark William Kilford (United Kingdom), Sebastian Helling (Norway), Sune Christiansen (Denmark) and Zac Hoffman (USA).
United by an expanded approach to painting, the artists draw on influences spanning skateboarding, punk, graffiti, tattoo culture and everyday life. While many have known one another through years of friendship, studio visits, exhibitions and artwork exchanges, others were introduced through Saxon’s growing international network, forming a rare international dialogue between artists connected through friendship, exchange and mutual respect.
To celebrate the friendships, creative exchanges and shared spirit that define You Little Rippa! (Crème de la Crème), the gallery hosted an evening of conversation accompanied by a thoughtfully curated Sichuan inspired plant based gastronomic experience by Chef Shu. Throughout the evening, Saxon shared stories behind each artist and the relationships that brought this remarkable exhibition together.
The hand painted napkins adorning the table were created from a single canvas that hung in Saxon’s studio, gradually layered with paint by Saxon, his daughters Luna and Nina, and Kitty’s two children before being torn into individual works. Like the exhibition itself, they celebrate friendship, family and the imaginative worlds children create.
