Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening of The Birds Who Drank the Sun, marking the beginning of our 2026 exhibition program.
We were delighted to welcome back Australian-Colombian artist Joshua Searle, whose new body of work brings together painting, sculpture and ceramics to examine memory, inheritance and the symbolic charge of gold. Drawing on colonial imagery and Indigenous cosmologies, the exhibition reflects on histories of extraction and cultural endurance.
We extend our sincere thanks to our special guest speaker, Mr Juan Diego Perez Matos, Deputy Consul of the Consulate-General of Colombia, Sydney, for his generous remarks, and to Paddo Collective Live Music and Art Week for their support.
