Lunar New Year at Saint Cloche
Last week, we gathered to welcome the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Fire Horse.
The evening brought together community, reflection and celebration, honouring traditions grounded in gathering, generosity and shared experience. It was also a moment to reflect on ancestry and the resilience of those who came before, whose journeys continue to shape the present.
“Growing up, I have so many fond memories of cultural celebrations that brought our community together. With ancestral ties to Chinese traditions, it felt deeply important to acknowledge Lunar New Year as a living cultural practice, one that centres gathering, generosity and shared experience.”
- Kitty Clark, Curator

A powerful Lion Dance performance by Jin Wu Koon, recently named the 2025 Australian National Lion Dance Champion, captivated the room. Guests were enthralled as the performance moved through the gallery, ushering in good fortune, momentum and transformation for the year ahead.
We extend our thanks to Paddo Collective for their support, and to Tequila Mockingbird for joining us on the night.
Following the performance, guests lingered over drinks and dumplings while experiencing Soft Return.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a memorable evening.
