Leanne Xiu Williams (b. 1995) is an artist based in Sydney, Australia. She is currently completing a Master of Fine Art at the National Art School, and holds a BA in Art History from the University of Sydney. Drawing from personal, archival, and found photographs, Williams' practice investigates the ways in which images shape both memory and imagination. In particular, the acts of looking, remembrance, and reinterpretation reveal how images shift in meaning, and how memory itself is subject to continual revision. Painting becomes a site of translation and negotiation, where memory and identity are continually reconstituted through material processes.
