Luca Lettieri is a contemporary multi-disciplinary artist whose practice navigates the intersection of art, design, and craftsmanship. Based in Peramangk Country (Strathalbyn), South Australia, Lettieri’s work is informed by materiality, form, and heritage, reinterpreting traditional techniques through a contemporary lens.

His background in fine craftsmanship, shaped by training at the Sturt Craft Centre and JamFactory’s esteemed Furniture Associate Program, is complemented by his studies in Italy, where an Italian Australian Federation Fellowship allowed him to explore violin making and bronze casting. This deep engagement with artisanal processes informs his evolving artistic language, where precision and experimentation converge.

“I’m fascinated by the tension between opposites in my life and work: form versus function, the pull of tradition alongside the need for creative freedom.

These works let me delve into these contrasts and the connections that bind them.

Each piece is a form of self-portraiture, an attempt to reconcile different parts of myself and my craft.”
