“My artwork continually aims to expand notions of how we see and think about our world and ourselves. I am constantly examining and questioning to build awareness and knowledge to open up new ways of understanding this experience.

As an artist, I see my craft as a means of life that expands my consciousness. I take inspiration from the writings of Jiddu Krishnamurti, and activate various awareness techniques in order to avoid distractions while exploring the natural world – this allows me to be truly present amongst nature.”

About the Artist

Greg Penn, originally from the United Kingdom and now based in Melbourne, is an accomplished artist whose work spans film, photography, and sculpture. He holds a degree in Film & Photography from the Newport School of Art, Wales, and a Master of Fine Art from the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne. Penn is currently pursuing a PhD, further deepening his academic and artistic exploration.

Penn's work has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including an Honourable Mention at the Deep Focus Film Festival and an Outstanding Achievement Award in the Luis Buñuel Memorial Awards at the 25th L'Age d'Or International Art-house Film Festival. He was also honored with "The Most Innovative Use of Digital Work" by the Centre for Contemporary Photography in Melbourne and was included on the LUMEN long list at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Exhibiting both locally and internationally, Penn's unique biomorphic sculptures, crafted from a distinctive blend of clay, mud, and plant extracts, challenge conventional perceptions and encourage new ways of thinking about our world and ourselves. His recent works have been acquired by Tiffany & Co. for their flagship stores in Sydney and Melbourne, underscoring his growing influence in the contemporary art scene.

Greg Penn is represented by Saint Cloche Gallery.
