As we reach the conclusion of 2022, Saint Cloche invites you to reflect on the year through our Grand Finale Group show, 'Best Life.' This December, step into a portal of inspiration as we celebrate the essence of the iconic 1970s era. Curated by Kitty Clark, the exhibition transforms this historical and cultural period into a contemporary vocabulary, staying true to the gallery's authenticity while embodying the unique curatorial approach of Kitty Clark.

Artists participating in 'Best Life' draw inspiration from the multifaceted aspects of the 1970s, spanning architecture, design, fashion, music, pop culture, and life itself. The 1970s, marked by its tumultuous nature, represented a continuation of the 1960s, witnessing the emergence of digital age, women's rights movement, gay liberation, environmental activism, and political upheavals. Amidst these societal shifts, the era also embraced the infectious beats of disco anthems, offering an escape for many seeking solace from societal challenges.

The intent of 'Best Life' is twofold—to celebrate the unabashed hedonism of the 1970s by revisiting cherished moments and to look forward to the future with a groovy spirit and increased self-reflection. Join us in exploring the vibrant chaos and beauty that defined the 1970s, mirroring the dynamic interplay of today. Embrace nostalgia, dance through the exhibit, and anticipate a self-reflective journey toward the future.

Best Life

“A celebration of the rich and diverse talents that have been handpicked to bring together an artful feast, it’s like a soiree where everyone gets along swimmingly.

I wanted to translate 70’s era where conversation pits tapped into our desires Du Jour, where people settled into meaningful conversations, with martini-fuelled fervour, it was a time of togetherness by design but also a time of great unrest – similarly we are going through significant upheaval now and we still continue to create and appreciate art and beauty as civilisations have before us.”
