We are delighted to announce an indomitable collaboration between two of the most recognisable, quintessential Australian talents – LEIF – quality self-care and wellbeing products made from native ingredients, and BEC SMITH – sought after artist known for her interpretation of perception and meaning through shape, texture and colour, represented by Saint Cloche.
LEIF has commissioned Bec to create three bespoke artworks that draw on themes of motherhood, generational love and self-care. The artworks have been scaled down to removable art cards worn on the LEIF gift set sleeves, paired with two 500ml products. All three limited edition gift sets are now available to purchase via leifproducts.com/collections/gifting
To celebrate the launch of the collaboration and Mother’s Day 2021, we are excited to be revealing a special exhibition of Bec’s works on paper, including a limited-edition print. The exhibition includes the original artworks Bec created for the BEC SMITH + LEIF series.
I’ve been dwelling on my own experiences of motherhood ever since I became a mum, and have created artworks around these feelings and observations in my studio practice, resulting in exhibitions about both motherhood and the earth.
Motherhood is a medley of sensations and feelings that changes like the seasons, and through navigating it, parents and carers will often put others first. It is tricky sometimes to remain centred throughout. Windows into nature help in prompting me to slow down and keep things simple.
The botanical ingredients in Leif remind me of the healing and grounding properties of nature which are, of course, ever present, but often out of mind or forsaken, and much harder to come by in a busy, modern life.

About Bec Smith
Bec Smith is a Melbourne-based artist who has practiced art and design in both Australia and overseas for over 20 years. In pursuit of her creative practice Bec has studied at The Art Academy in London, the Art Room in Melbourne, RMIT and Swinburne National School of Design where she holds a Bachelor degree.
She has always stayed particularly interested in abstract, non- objective, and colourfield paintings from the early part of the last century – a natural extension of a designer’s grounding in the early design language of the Bauhaus, equally with her interest in 20th century postmodernism. Bec has been selected for the Belle Art Prize, exhibited at the Melbourne Design Festival on multiple occasions, and her work is held in private collections.
About LEIF
Leif products hero key native Australian ingredients with a supporting cast of essential oils and extracts to bring out the best in those that use them. Some of the most beautiful ways to self-nurture oneself on many levels, not just the physical, and evoke a wonderful sense of wellbeing.
Leif is well-known for their artful, innovative packaging and Saint Cloche and Leif already shared a brand partnership – Leif products are used throughout the gallery.
We are proud to announce that Leif is donating $5 of each limited-edition gift set sold and 100% of the sales of the three commissioned artworks to support the essential work of WAGEC (Women’s and Girls Emergency Centre), a charity dedicated to supporting women in crisis.
Saint Cloche will be donating $5 from the sale of each of the paper works and limited-edition print to support WAGEC.
