Monday 11th January to Sunday 7th February 2016
To open Saint Cloche’s 2016 calendar we are introducing for the first time an Open Studio Concept Show between the 11th of January and the 7th of February. We have invited experienced artists and student artists from the National Art School to create together in the space, giving the public an opportunity to interact with the artists as they embark on their inspired journey. We aim to blur the lines between gallery spaces and studio spaces to create an amalgamation of live art, open studio and collaborative art.
In a creative three-week exposé between nine artists, the gallery begins as an empty white room; it then evolves into a studio shared between three different artists per week for three weeks. It will bring together talents from many disciplines to form a creative dialogue within the space. Artworks produced will be displayed as soon as the final lick of paint, pinch of clay, stroke of graphite or finishing touch has been placed by each group of artists.
Each artist has been asked to create three artworks inspired by Sydney Summertime. Whether it’s spending days at our famous beaches, lazing around in the sweltering summer heat, enjoying balmy evenings or enjoying endless amounts of seasonal berries and fruits, summertime in Sydney evokes moments of relaxation, enjoyment and inspiration.
Unified by the one space, a melding of different artists will gradually form a coherent exhibition in the beginning of February which also marks Saint Cloche’s first birthday!
Please join the artists for some breezy afternoon refreshments to celebrate Saint Cloche’s first Open Studio Concept Show and 1st Birthday.
