Creative Zen - two of the elements that were the focus of our first Ikebana workshop. The workshop saw our space converted into a glasshouse filled with native Australian fauna flowed from the vases as well as a mix of colourful exotic species. Bright colours, varying textures and differing sizes of the flowers provided great inspiration and creative potential.
This July, we will be hosting two Ikebana workshops run by Setsuko Yanagisawa from Yuga Flora during the exhibition Made/Arranged. The exhibition explores the way in which Minimalism and the Zen aesthetic share both conceptual and artistic values that are clearly translated into the art form of Ikebana.
One of Sydney's steamiest summer evenings made for a perfect Mediterranean soirée and Opening Event for our Grand Finalé group exhibition of 2015 ~ RIVIERA. Guests were transported to the dreamy haze of the RIVIERA by potted cacti surrounds reminiscent of the iconic coastline, sweet strums of the spanish guitar and the evocative Mediterranean-inspired works of 13 artists.
