CUTE TOMB WORKSHOP
An Exclusive Workshop with Rachel Burke at Saint Cloche
Rachel Burke’s effervescent homage to her childhood self, CUTE TOMB culminated in a joyous celebration last weekend.
Finally, with the border closure between Queensland and NSW coming to an end meant that Rachel could officially hightail over to catch the last couple of days of her debut triumph. Her first solo show was jubilantly well-received and we were delighted for her. It meant a great deal to all of us that she could make it to the gallery in person last Saturday to meet with some of her loyal supporters.
With the holiday season now if full swing, Kitty and the Saint Cloche team ran a beautiful creative opportunity for community engagement with a special 2-hour workshop, co-hosted by Rachel herself! The workshop was COVID safe, being quite intimate yet still wildly fun including all age groups of adults and children!
Sipping on refreshing Sunly Seltzers sponsored by Stone & Wood and following Rachel’s lead, all keenly throwing themselves into making their own CUTE TOMB headdress to mark the occasion. Each participant dove in with excitement creating a work of art that uniquely expressed their own past or current expressions of identity to own and celebrate.
To top it all off, each member left with a Goodie Bag crammed full of treats from our wonderful sponsors as well as a CUTE TOMB souvenir badge made by Rachel herself.
Special thanks to our sponsors:
Thank you to Rachel for making the last minute dash to Sydney to be with all of us and thanks to everyone who came along on Saturday to make it such a special day.
